Red can’t read.
Green isn’t in control.
Pink is caught in the middle.
Blue won’t give an inch.
Yellow is too nice.
Black is talking to a glass tube.
For a month, six women live and train inside an isolated Command Center for a highly-anticipated reboot of a certain 90's children program. In this toxic environment, who will the power protect?
THE COMMAND CENTER received a Works-in-Progress Workshop and Reading with ANDTheatre Company in New York, NY on October 29 & 30, 2018. The workshop was directed by Esther M. Cohen and produced by Kevin Thiel & Rebecca Schafer.
The reading featured EmJ Nelson (Red), Dana Cullinane (Green), Nina Roy (Pink), Alizae Powell (Blue), Kate Berg (Yellow), Katie Langham (Black), Kayla Ryan Walsh (The Intern), and Evan Moore-Coll (The Producer).
THE COMMAND CENTER has completed an Artistic Residency with the National Theater Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center in December 2018.
Most recently, THE COMMAND CENTER had a reading with the Eleventh Hour Theater Company at Otterbein University on April 14, 2019. The reading was produced by Daniel Kunkel, directed by Payton Tevis, and featured Savannah Schakett (Red), Olivia Crago (Pink), Abby Messina (Green), Maggie Ek (Yellow), Sarah Simmons (Blue), Madeline Norton (Black) with Ava Arkin, Lindsay Cernek, Greta Kremer, Emma Kate Lampe, & Logan Reeder.
The play is currently being developed with director Esther M. Cohen and producer Jordan Donica.
